Light blue and teal cover most of this horizontal canvas, and through them, from a luminous zone at the left, yellow and pale green emanate in soft horizontal currents, with a few small marks of stronger color scattered through the mid-field like punctuation. The composition has no single center; the movement is lateral and continuous, energy distributed across the surface rather than focused toward a point. This is what the title, Movimiento [Movement], names: not a depicted motion but a sustained quality of the painted surface, color as kinesthetic sensation.

The color currents in Movimiento suggest flow without depicting it: teal and blue drifting laterally from the luminous zone at left, the horizontal movement of the surface evoking the kinesthetic sensation of water or air without naming either. Movement here is a quality of the abstract surface, perceived directly before it is understood conceptually.

Joan Mitchell's large canvases pursue a related proposition, conveying movement through the physical evidence of the painterly act, the mark of the arm's reach, gesture translated into color-field energy, though her work is more gestural and physically present than Aya's atmospheric means. Both practices insist that an abstract surface can carry kinesthetic sensation as its primary content. Scaled to a horizontal format where the movement is intimate rather than panoramic, Movimiento breathes rather than surges: sustained, gentle, meditative in its lateral drift.
