I rely on formal techniques while creating a new language. The time it takes oil paint to dry allows the blending of colors, creation of shades, and tones that juxtapose contrasting colors without breaking the atmosphere. Form and movement emerge from color in the same way dance is natural to music.

Alfredo Aya is best known for his canvases, in which the colors of his beloved Colombian countryside gives birth to magical abstract landscapes of a unique poetry. Blue oceans, palm trees, and tropical flowers are the foundation of subtle compositions of pastel blues, green, yellow, and purple.

Whereas much of Alfredo's works can come across as abstract, the figurative world is often the inspiration that comes to the surface, in an array of colorful shapes reminescent of stained glass windows.
